There are many vegetarian recipes but a good sprinkling of meat, poultry and fish recipes too. It has nutritional facts for many kinds of nuts and also teaches how to crack, roast, and even sprout nuts. If you can control your appetite for nuts, you will find taste and health benefits abound in the wide range of nuts and seeds available. Learn about the potential of nuts, not only as gifts and accompaniments to the main meal, but also as thickeners and flavourings in appetizers, main dishes, salads and dressings, desserts and smoothies. Nut meat is only the starting place, the centerpiece in some of the recipes and only one of many diverse ingredients in others. One limitation is that this cookbook does follow a more gourmet style than some people may be expecting.
One aspect to mention is that the cookbook does often use ancient grains in combination with whole wheat flour or simply replaces one ingredient in a recipe with an ancient grain. And, like other cookbooks, the recipes here can simply act as a starting point and you can develop your own ideas and meals from the inspiration provided. Each recipe tells you for which rice cooker the recipe is appropriate, the correct cycle setting and yield. Therefore, I give this book a 10 of 10!
